OPN2001 Wireless Hand Scanner Not Working – What to Do?

If your wireless BarTrack hand scanner is no longer working, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Steps to Resolve the Issue (Microsoft)

  1. Download the latest version of the app: Go to Download desktop version page and click on the Microsoft icon to download the latest version of the software.

  2. Install the software: Navigate to the folder where you saved the software and double-click the file. The installation process will begin.

  3. Open BarTrack and log in: After installation, BarTrack for Desktop will open automatically. Log in using your BarTrack username and password.

  4. Install the scanner drivers: (Driver name contains OPN) Click the ‘Read Scanner’ button. The software will prompt you to install Opticon scanners. Select all options and click OK.

  5. Connect and read the scanner: Once the installation is complete, connect the scanner to your PC and click ‘Read Scanner’ again. The scanner will beep, and the items will automatically be added to your order list.

Steps to resolve the issue (macOS)

  1. Download the latest version of the app: Go to the Desktop version download page and click on the macOS logo. You will be redirected to the Mac App Store.
  2. Install the software: Click ‘Download’ or ‘Install’ in the Mac App Store to install BarTrack for Desktop on your Mac.
  3. Open BarTrack and log in: After installation, you can find BarTrack in your Applications folder or via Launchpad. Open the app and log in with your BarTrack username and password.
  4. Install the scanner drivers: Click the ‘Read scanner’ button. The software will detect that scanner drivers are required for Opticon scanners. Select all options and click OK to install them.
  5. Connect the scanner and read data: Connect the scanner to your Mac via USB and click ‘Read scanner’ again. The scanner will beep, and the scanned items will automatically be added to your order list.
