Why own article numbers?

Companies often use proprietary article numbers for their products. These numbers are integrated into the company's ERP system. In some organizations, it is essential that the labels in the warehouse contain the proprietary item number. This is done for several reasons. The QR code is generated based on the proprietary item number. These own numbers are linked to the wholesaler's desired products in the inventory manager. As a result, when the own code is scanned, the linked product is sent to the wholesaler that the item number belongs to.

Using own article numbers also has the advantage that the stickers do not have to be replaced when the linked product is changed. This works as long as the product information on the sticker remains the same as the replaced product.
