Setting Up Your Weighing Cabinet – Tray, Weight, and Order Quantity Configuration

With BarTrack, you can optimally configure your weighing cabinet to streamline your inventory management and save time. Follow these steps to get the most out of your weighing cabinet!

Setting Tray, Weight, and Order Quantity (Setting Order Products in a Location)

Navigating to Weighing Cabinet Settings

Follow these steps to access the settings of the weighing cabinet:

1. Go to “My Inventory” within BarTrack.

2. Select the inventory location of the weighing cabinet.

3. Click on the “eye icon” of an item.

4. You are now on the correct page.

Setting Order Quantity and Reorder Level

BarTrack calculates when to place an order based on a few parameters you enter:

Step 1: Choose the correct tray

• Position & Tray ID: Select the tray that corresponds to the item you’re configuring.

Step 2: Enter product-specific data

• Weight per unit (grams): Enter the weight of one product unit.

• Quantity per package: Enter how many units are in one package. This is the number of items you receive when you order one unit from the wholesaler.

• Maximum weight: Specify how much weight the tray can hold at most. This may vary per cabinet and tray position.

Step 3: Maximum stock
Enter the maximum number of units you want to store in one tray, taking into account the weight, tray size, and package quantity.
If the package quantity doesn’t fit in one tray, the item must be spread over multiple trays (which is not ideal for the weighing cabinet).

Step 4: Set reorder level

• Reorder at percentage: The stock level at which automatic ordering is triggered.
  For optimal cabinet performance, it is recommended to keep this percentage below 40%.
  This is calculated based on the maximum stock minus the reorder level.
  You can manually adjust this.
  Just make sure the ordered quantity is sufficient to refill the stock above the reorder threshold.

Step 5: Save
Click Save.

Step 6: (Optional): Recalculate settings
If you made a mistake in the fields, adjust them.
Click Recalculate Settings.

Order Settings

In these settings, you configure the Order Quantity per Package.
If the cabinet’s stock drops below the defined percentage level, it will automatically order the specified number of packages.

• Enter the desired quantity.

• Click Save.

Weighing Cabinet Status

After completing “Set Order Quantity and Reorder Level” and “Order Settings,” the following aspects are tracked and displayed:

• Current weight: Displays the current weight inside the cabinet

• Reorder at weight: The weight at which reordering is triggered. This is calculated based on your entries in the previous steps

• Reorder at quantity: The number of units at which ordering takes place

• Number of products in the cabinet: Based on weight and unit weight, the cabinet calculates how many products are currently inside

• Cabinet status (top right):

  • Offline

  • Online
