Difference Between a Connected and a Non-Connected Wholesaler

After reading this article, you will understand the difference between a connected and a non-connected wholesaler in BarTrack and what this means for your ordering process.

Module and User Group

Module: Ordering

For whom: Buyers and administrators within BarTrack

What Is a Connected Wholesaler?

A connected wholesaler is technically integrated with BarTrack. This means that product data and orders are automatically exchanged between BarTrack and the wholesaler’s system.

When working with a connected wholesaler:

  • The assortment is directly available in BarTrack.

  • Product data such as description, article number, and price are up to date.

  • You can place digital orders via EDI or DICO.

  • You receive automatic order confirmations and status updates.

  • Your inventory is automatically updated after delivery.

This results in less manual work, fewer errors, and real-time insight into your orders and stock levels.

How to Check if a Wholesaler Is Connected

  1. Log in to order.bartrack.com.

  2. Go to My wholesalers.

  3. Click on the relevant wholesaler.

  4. Check whether a block for automatic ordering (for example EDI or DICO) is visible.

You can also recognise connected wholesalers by their logo:

  • Connected wholesalers have a coloured logo.

  • Non-connected wholesalers have a black-and-white logo.

What Is a Non-Connected Wholesaler?

A non-connected wholesaler does not have a technical integration with BarTrack. You can still use this supplier within the platform, but without automatic data exchange.

When working with a non-connected wholesaler:

  • You add products manually or via an import file.

  • You manage prices yourself within BarTrack.

  • Orders are usually sent by email.

  • You do not receive automatic order status updates.

BarTrack still helps you structure orders and manage project administration, but the process involves more manual steps.

What Does This Mean for Your Workflow?

Do you frequently order from a fixed supplier? Then a connected wholesaler is more efficient. You save time, prevent errors, and always have insight into your orders and inventory.

Do you occasionally work with a supplier or is no integration available yet? Then you can add the wholesaler as non-connected and still benefit from BarTrack’s ordering and project overview.
